CEREMONIAL is an exhibition comprising 11 works in the form of flags. The works on display deal with social and political issues – commenting on pandemics, the migration situation, the refugee crisis, the vagaries of systems, the Russian invasion in Ukraine. They show the need for changes in language, attitudes towards others or nature. The moment of displaying the flags created by the artists acquires the rank of a ritual of solidarity and has the character of a post-ceremonial act.
CEREMONIAL is one of the programmes of NOWY ZŁOTY, an independent exhibition space operating from 2019 in a kiosk located in Wrocław, Poland, under the responsibility of the curatorial team: Magdalena Kreis and Yuriy Biley.
